- Games Workshop presented “500 Worlds,” revealing the future of Captain Titus (the protagonist of Space Marine 1–2) and his chief antagonists — the Necrons.
- As a result, Titus has been integrated into the official Warhammer 40k canon and has become one of its driving characters.
- Prior to the release of Space Marine 2, the Warhammer 40k universe lacked a clear, approachable entry point that could introduce newcomers without requiring them to read hundreds of books or consult exhaustive encyclopedias.
