Value of Keys in ARC Raiders Skyrockets — Developers Fix Bug Allowing Players to Walk Through Closed Doors
A widely used door-breach tactic is being phased out.
Some areas in ARC Raiders require special keys to unlock. Players, however, discovered a flaw in the game’s mechanics and began theatrically bypassing locked doors.
It turned out that by stacking on top of one another in a doorway corner, one model could push another through the barrier, allowing players to clip through the door. That exploit effectively nullified the value of keys: teams arriving with keys at a “locked” room often found its loot already taken.
The recent 1.4.0 update for ARC Raiders addresses this loophole — keys are once again meaningful resources that grant access to additional loot:
Protections to counter the exploit have been implemented for every locked room on all maps.
Developers also fixed a weapon bug that allowed faster firing by toggling to a quick-use item and back.
Lighting artifacts were removed and texture rendering in the main menu has been corrected.
