US Customs destroys rare floppy disk of cult adult game Tsukihime
The delivery of a rare collector’s edition ended in a total disaster.
Recently, a user going by the handle tehkeripo shared a frustrating ordeal involving the U.S. Customs service. He had successfully acquired a nearly impossible-to-find floppy disk containing the Tsukihime Trial Edition (月姫 体験版)—a legendary adult visual novel—only for it to be completely destroyed during the shipping process.
The package was initially delayed at a U.S. Customs facility for over 40 days. When it finally cleared inspection and reached its destination, tehkeripo opened the box to find a heartbreaking sight.
It turned out that the customs inspectors had “eviscerated” the box, discarding all protective layers and bubble wrap. As tehkeripo described it:
While tehkeripo intends to pursue an insurance claim for the damages, the loss of such a rare artifact is irreversible. There are only 50 known copies of the Tsukihime Trial Edition in existence.
