Cyberpunk 2077 Co-op Mod Gets New Trailer as Modders Announce Open Beta
The modders have included optional PvP.
Open beta testing of NightCoop, a co-op mod for Cyberpunk 2077, is scheduled to start on October 23 at 6:00 p.m. Moscow time. Players will need a licensed copy of the game and patch 2.31.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a single-player game, but some fans want to explore Night City with friends. The modding community is about to make that possible.
The team behind NightCoop recently shared new details about the project. According to the modders, the mod will support up to 8 players with optional PvP: “The campaign runs in one shared world: the same quests, the same cutscenes, the same firefights, and each player has their own V. And when you feel like it, the host turns on PvP.”
The NightCoop developers said the current version supports Windows, and that “other systems are in development.”
Quest progress, NPC behavior, and the state of the city come from the host’s save file, and the other players enter the host’s world as “guests.” Participants in a co-op session can vote on story choices in dialogues, and players will also be able to ride in the same vehicle.
Combat will be shared: “Everyone sees the same enemies, the same shots, grenades, and deaths. Damage from any player counts.”
