Reddit user voices38 deletes account after court ruling allowing identity disclosure, and v0ices38 appears

A account with a nearly identical name has surfaced on a hacking forum after the Denuvo cracker voices38 deleted his Reddit profile. The hacker does not appear ready to give up.

The court recently allowed Denuvo representatives to try to reveal the identity of the hacker known as voices38 through services such as Steam and Reddit. Soon after, members of the piracy community noticed that the “voices38” account was gone. He had used it on Reddit to post information about his cracks and answer players’ questions.

Voices38 apparently does not plan to disappear entirely. On a hacking forum, users spotted a suspiciously similar username, “v0ices38,” with the letter “o” replaced by the number 0. It is not a new account. His earlier posts remain in the history, and the author field now shows the name “v0ices38.”

Players assume the cracker has changed his alias. A similar account has also appeared on Reddit, registered on October 21, the same day the old voices38 account vanished. Players believe the hacker “shook off a tail” with this move, and that Denuvo would now need a new data request if it wants to unmask “v0ices38.”

Voices38 is one of the best-known Denuvo crackers. He uses an “old school” approach, meaning his cracks fully break the protection instead of bypassing the DRM, as the hypervisor method does. Over the past few months he has cracked many Denuvo games, both new and older. Recently he cracked two games from the Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) franchise.
