Paradox Announces Release Date for Stellaris DLC Willpower, Which Focuses on Creating an Ideology
The developers are also preparing a free update.
The developers of the global space strategy game Stellaris have released a trailer for the Willpower expansion, which is set to launch on November 23, 2026.
Paradox Interactive has detailed what the DLC will include. Players will be able to shape an “ideology,” and the populations of other states may adopt its values and “create fanatical factions that undermine your enemies from within”:
Principles are the core values of your state. A principle backed by fanatical conviction can become an ideology that knows no borders. Once you have shaped your ideology, spread it to neighboring systems and states with the help of starbases, hyper relays, and ideological beacons.
The developers warn, however, that while spreading dogma across the galaxy, the player must stay true to their own values. Players need to watch the “impulse.” Otherwise, factions inside the state may rebel and demand that the player remain faithful to the declared values.
Stellaris will also get a “galactic hall,” a physical embodiment of an ideology on the galaxy map that players can move around. While in orbit of a colony, it will increase production output and expand the ideology’s reach.
The DLC will also add three new origins, dozens of new events, five fanatical civics, an advisor, and more.
Players can add the Willpower DLC for Stellaris to their Steam wishlist. The release is scheduled for November 23, 2026, and the free Corona Borealis update is due the same day.
