Top 10 Games of the Week in Japan: Mario Kart Returns to the Top

Sales of games for the Nintendo Switch 2 remain strong. The new console continues to attract players, and its catalog is expanding with powerful releases that regularly occupy top positions on the charts.

This is confirmed by the latest Famitsu report for the week of October 6–12. Nintendo titles once again dominate the rankings, and the console holds a firm lead in the Japanese market. Below are the ten best-selling games for the week:

1. [NS2] Mario Kart World — 37,502 (total: 1,875,397)

2. [PS5] Ghost of Yotei — 26,776 (total: 146,972)

3. [PS5] Battlefield 6 — 23,292

4. [NS] Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 — 20,083 (total: 68,348)

5. [NS] Little Nightmares 3 — 17,806

6. [NS2] Donkey Kong Bonanza — 7,420 (total: 341,755)

7. [PS5] Little Nightmares 3 — 7,040

8. [NS2] Little Nightmares 3 — 6,924

9. [PS5] Digimon Story: Time Stranger — 6,595 (total: 30,374)

10. [NS] Minecraft — 5,002 (total: 4,023,112)

Mario Kart World reclaimed the top spot, pushing Ghost of Yotei down to second place. It looks like Japan’s market will pick up pace toward the end of the year, and Nintendo has once again demonstrated clear supremacy.
