“Generally, I prefer to wait,” he explained. “When you launch a game, everything’s installed—you press play. What is a player’s first thought? What do they already know? I begin from that moment and work backward.”
The goal is to tap into players’ memories as they reimmerse themselves in a familiar world. It worked for Oblivion—many returned to Cyrodiil after nearly two decades—and Fallout 3 and New Vegas could inspire similar enthusiasm.
With Fallout season 2 starting on December 17, anticipation is high for news about a Fallout 3 or New Vegas remaster—perhaps as a surprise at The Game Awards, though that might be wishful thinking.
Todd Howard has done it again: Skyrim now boasts a Switch 2 Anniversary Edition, proving Bethesda still finds new ways to reissue the 14-year-old RPG.
