Three Prime Video Series to Watch November 6–8

November is a good time to settle in with a series, whether you want to try something new or revisit an old favorite. If you have already finished Carrie, Prime Video has plenty more to watch.

These three picks offer very different stories: a Navy SEAL’s return after a revenge-filled first season, an unsettling thriller starring a former Time Lord, and a comedy about a digital afterlife.

3. The Terminal List

The Terminal List returns for a second season following the action-packed prequel series Dark Wolf. Chris Pratt stars as Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, whose entire platoon dies during a disastrous mission in the first season. After he is framed for the murder of his wife and child, Reece sets out to uncover the truth about the ambush and his family’s deaths, taking revenge on those involved.

Season 2 picks up where the story left off and adapts Jack Carr’s follow-up novel, True Believer. Reece is drawn into another international conspiracy and pulled out of hiding to track down a former ally who appears to have gone rogue.

The new season also builds on Dark Wolf, bringing back elite Iraqi Special Operations Forces officer Mohammed “Mo” Farooq, played by Dar Salim, and CIA agent Jules Landry, played by Luke Hemsworth. As Reece navigates military contractors, arms deals and CIA double-crosses, the story has the feel of a Call of Duty campaign adapted for television.

2. The Devil’s Hour

In the unsettling thriller The Devil’s Hour, Jessica Raine plays Lucy Chambers, a woman who wakes up at exactly 3:33 a.m. every night. Troubled by disturbing visions and seemingly disconnected from the world around her, Lucy becomes entangled in a murder investigation involving Gideon Shepherd, a mysterious serial killer played by Peter Capaldi. Gideon appears to know far more about her life than he should.

Created by Tom Moran, the series blends psychological horror, supernatural mystery and police procedural. Its second season takes the mythology in new directions as Lucy and Gideon form an uneasy alliance to prevent a catastrophic crime.

The third and final season arrives on Prime Video in December, leaving time to catch up on the first two seasons before the story concludes.

1. Upload

Upload

Created by Greg Daniels of The Office and Parks and Recreation, Upload imagines a future in which people can upload their consciousness into a digital afterlife. The sci-fi comedy gives that afterlife subscription tiers, questionable customer service and plenty of ways for corporations to extract more money from the recently deceased.

The series follows Nathan Brown, a tech-savvy app developer played by Robbie Amell, who has a suspicious accident and wakes up in Lakeview, a luxurious digital afterlife funded by his wealthy and controlling girlfriend. His customer service “Angel” is Nora Antony, played by Andy Allo, a living liaison who helps him navigate his virtual existence.

Across four seasons, Upload combines satirical comedy with commentary on corporate greed and the risks of monetizing a person’s soul. Its fourth and final season concluded last year, so the complete series is available to binge.
