“This May Violate Rights”: Valve Reacted to a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive–Style Cake
Valve keeps a close eye on fan-made creations.
Recently NdorfN shared how they celebrated his son’s birthday and posted a photo of the cake:
“My wife, who doesn’t know anything about the game, asked her brother to 3D-print a ‘butterfly’ and a karambit, bought smoke flares, and baked this cake.”
The cake displayed the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive logo, which prompted a response from a Valve representative, who joked:
“That might be a trademark issue — it comes down to taste. I need you to cut out the slice with the logo and send it to me for verification.”
