The success of The Apothecary Diaries has helped draw attention to another work by Natsu Hyuuga.

The Failure at God School manga by Natsu Hyuuga, the author of The Apothecary Diaries, is receiving a television anime adaptation. Alongside the announcement, the creators revealed the first poster for the project.

The story is set in modern-day Japan, where people with supernatural abilities can obtain licenses to become gods at shrines. Nagi considers herself an ordinary schoolgirl, unlike her twin brother Takeru, who can read minds and move objects with psychokinesis. To avoid hearing her brother’s constant stream of thoughts, she invented a special technique, but one day it helps her fend off a real supernatural attack. Afterward, Nagi is sent to a special school that trains future gods.

Natsu Hyuuga shared that she is now looking forward to seeing the story’s characters in the anime:

“We will be able to see and hear Nagi, Takeru, Tsukuyomi, and Tota. Now all that is left for me is to keep writing the story and praying to the gods.”

Manga artist Modomu Akagawara also thanked the readers and the adaptation team:

“As the artist responsible for the manga, I couldn’t be happier. I am also eagerly waiting for the characters of God School to come to life and speak.”
Modomu Akagawara

Which studio will handle the anime’s production and when the premiere will take place have not yet been revealed.
