Obsidian has delivered a lot, yet in a few respects the original still eclipses the sequel.

The Outer Worlds 2 recently launched in early access. Players have already started comparing Obsidian’s new entry to the franchise’s previous installment.

The developers have introduced an upgraded user interface, an optional third-person view, and other enhancements. Still, in certain areas the new title lags behind the original — for example, firing at water in the sequel produces no splash effects.
