Cosplayer Dresses as Link in Ancient Armor from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

It’s time to take a brief break from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time’s remake—but not from the beloved series itself. Cosplayer Mikhail “Hoar” Stepanov has shared photos of himself as Link from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, wearing ancient armor.

While fans of The Legend of Zelda are busy playing the remake of the action-adventure game The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it’s worth remembering the other games in the series, too.

Cosplayer Mikhail “Hoar” Stepanov shared new photos inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In a shoot by photographer Victoria “Milligan” Romanova, he appears as Link wearing ancient armor.

Link is depicted as a young man with delicate features, long pointed ears, blue eyes, and fair hair. In BotW, he is an exceptionally quiet, reserved, and serious hero who deliberately suppresses his emotions and keeps his worries to himself under the immense pressure of his mission.

In dialogue, players can choose ironic or playful responses that show Link also has a strong sense of duty, boundless courage, kindness, and a genuine love of hearty food.

Ancient armor is one of the game’s most powerful armor sets. It looks bulky and unusual, made entirely from salvaged parts of defeated Guardians. The brownish-gray armor features angular stone and metal plates, while its cone-shaped helmet closely follows the shape of a classic combat Guardian’s head.
