Sony Is Shutting Down Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble Before Its Full Release
Sony’s graveyard of live-service games has another addition.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Oh BiBi announced that Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble will soon shut down. The free team-based shooter for iOS and Android launched in November 2025 in a limited release in the Philippines and Indonesia. The game later expanded to more regions, but never reached a full global release.
Ranger Rumble received its final update on November 6. It disabled monetization and made the battle pass free. The game will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on November 21, but players who have already installed it can keep playing until May 1, 2027. All current modes and matchmaking will remain available until then. Afterward, the servers will shut down permanently, the game will stop launching, and player data will be lost.

Ranger Rumble is the latest addition to PlayStation’s collection of discontinued online games. Naughty Dog canceled development of The Last of Us Online in 2023, and Sony shut down Concord in 2024, just two weeks after its release. Against that backdrop, the mobile Ratchet & Clank game at least lasted longer than its notorious counterpart.
