The Mermaid Mask, the Next Detective Grimoire Murder Mystery Game, Launches Next Month

If you have a soft spot for the Ace Attorney series, you likely remember Tangle Tower fondly. It was a standout gem during the early days of Apple Arcade, leaving many of us crossing our fingers for a follow-up. The wait is finally nearing its end: the sequel, The Mermaid Mask, officially has a release date. Revealed during the Story-Rich Games Showcase by publisher Fellow Traveller, the mystery is set to unfold on July 16, 2026.

In this installment, our familiar investigative duo returns to tackle a fresh puzzle: the suspicious death of Captain Magnus Mortuga. According to the official synopsis, the story takes place on a bizarre submarine stationed near the eerie, deserted fishing village of Silkwirm-on-Sea. Players will step back into the shoes of Detective Grimoire and his sharp-witted partner, Sally, to unravel an impossible locked-room murder. The game maintains the series’ trademark expressive animation and top-tier voice acting—elements that elevate the storytelling far beyond your average point-and-click adventure.
