Modder Shuts Down Fan-Made GTA V Ports for Android and Nintendo Switch Following Take-Two Action
After receiving a letter from lawyers, the modder’s attitude was no longer so combative.
Grand Theft Auto V never made it to the Nintendo Switch console officially, but until recently, players held out hope for a fan-made port. Paralympics Productions was developing ports for Android-based devices as well as the Switch.
In September, players noticed that Rockstar Games updated its rules regulating modding. One of the clauses addressed unofficial ports of the studio’s games:
Do not modify our games in order to run them on consoles, hardware devices, or other platforms on which these games were not officially released by Rockstar Games.
A representative for Paralympics Productions noticed this publication and wrote on social media a few days ago: “Well, try to deal with me, Rockstar. I don’t give a damn.”

It recently became known that Take-Two Interactive’s lawyers tried dealing with the situation, and Paralympics Productions has now announced that it is shutting down operations:
Paralympics Productions is shutting down on October 3. Thank you to everyone who supported us through difficult times and throughout the long development. I apologize for not living up to your expectations and leaving you without ports. I am grateful to Take-Two for the mercy shown, so this is where it all ends.
It appears that the modders do not plan to publish their work in the public domain.
