The Last of Us-Style Survival Game to Feature Co-Op, New Gameplay Trailer Shows Combat and Fishing
Developers Jonas Jensen and Wes Larkin have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming post-apocalyptic open-world survival game, Never Be Alone. The title, which features a zombie-infested world, has drawn comparisons from some players to Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us franchise.
The newly published footage focuses on the game’s cooperative multiplayer mode, showcasing combat mechanics alongside survival activities such as hunting and fishing.
The story begins with the protagonist waking from a six-month coma inside an isolated, fragile safe zone with no memory of recent events.
The settlement is vulnerable, supplies are limited, and everyone must contribute for it to endure. To earn your place among the survivors and uncover the truth of your forgotten past, you will have to leave the safety of the walls, explore hazardous territories, fight the infected, and navigate complex relationships with human factions still fighting for power.

Never Be Alone is available to wishlist on Steam. The game is scheduled to launch in Early Access on December 8, 2026. The developers plan to introduce new content and adjust gameplay based on player feedback throughout the development process.
