Pedro Pascal, who portrayed Joel in the television adaptation of The Last of Us, may appear in Naughty Dog’s forthcoming game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Neil Druckmann revealed in an interview with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
In the discussion he reflected on formative projects and on the experience of adapting The Last of Us for television. Druckmann said that game development and producing a TV series share many parallels—both demand thorough preparation during pre-production—and that working on the show helped him develop further as a storyteller and visual artist.
Directing multiple episodes of HBO’s The Last of Us proved to be a significant learning opportunity for Druckmann. Following the shoot of episode six of season two, titled “The Price,” Pascal reportedly expressed interest in collaborating with him again. Druckmann confirmed the mutual enthusiasm and suggested that Pascal could make an appearance in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
Earlier reports indicated that Tati Gabrielle and Tony Dalton—both familiar to audiences from the series—are already attached to the game. According to Druckmann, Pascal personally reached out to ask to be involved in the new project.
