Tasha Named Most Expensive Ace Combat 8 Character Due to Pink Hair

Tasha Severski, the pink-haired character from Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, unexpectedly became the game’s most popular character among players, catching the developers by surprise.

Tasha Severski has emerged as one of the most recognizable heroines in Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, and crafting her required more work than any other character.

People began talking about Tasha even before the game launched, as players gravitated toward her pink hair, unusual appearance, and non-standard military uniform. Her soaring popularity surprised even her creators.

In an interview, Kazutoki Kono, one of the primary creators of Ace Combat 8, admitted that he did not expect Tasha to achieve such success. He personally belonged to “Team Kate Evans” from the start and did not think Severski would become a fan favorite.

Work on Tasha began relatively early, with a different artist producing the initial concept. Her story and role in the plot were determined in advance, while her appearance and other details were reworked numerous times. As a result, the team spent the most time on Tasha and jokingly started calling her the “most expensive character,” referring to the number of hours spent rather than the budget.
