Improvements to the extraction project are ongoing.
The Forever Winter developers recently released the “Nuke Bytes” update. It reduces the storage footprint of the extraction-style shooter on users’ drives.
The update introduces a compression system that substantially lowers on-disk file sizes:
This will markedly reduce download sizes and reclaim storage space. We’ll continue to refine this and other systems to make the game more streamlined and efficient. We’ve also applied a range of improvements to Scav character animations so movement and jumping feel noticeably more natural. Each character has been individually polished.
The Forever Winter will now occupy roughly 40–50 GB instead of about 120 GB.
