Tank Chair Anime Trailer Features Absolute Ruler of the Academy

The anime adaptation of Manabu Yashiro’s manga will premiere on October 4, 2026.

Bandai Namco Filmworks has released the second official trailer and a new poster for the anime Tank Chair. The video introduces Sensei, the founder and absolute ruler of the Academy, voiced by Megumi Ogata.

The story is set on Guicheng Island, the most dangerous city in the world. Main character Nagi Taira takes a bullet to protect his younger sister Shizuka, leaving him wheelchair-bound and in a coma. Shizuka soon discovers that Nagi wakes up whenever someone tries to kill him. Hoping to cure her brother, she begins taking on the most dangerous contracts and throwing him into battles with genetically modified assassins.

Tank Chair is based on Manabu Yashiro’s manga of the same name, which is serialized in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine. The anime is produced by Polygon Pictures, known for Knights of Sidonia and Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The studio also worked on individual episodes for the anthologies Star Wars: Visions and Love, Death & Robots.

Tadahiro “Teddy” Yoshihira is directing, handling series composition, and writing the script, with Hiroaki Ando serving as co-director and screenwriter. Masaru Yokoyama composed the music. The Japanese voice cast also includes Kouki Uchiyama, Miyu Tomiji, Gakuto Kajiwara, Saori Hayami, Yurina Amami, and Gen Sato.

Tank Chair will premiere on October 4, 2026.
