Silent Hill 2 Remake Surprises Xbox Series X/S with a 50% Launch Discount
The 2024 remake of Silent Hill 2 has quietly arrived on Xbox Series X and S consoles, and Microsoft’s platform is offering a limited launch discount of up to 50% off the usual price.
Originally released for PlayStation 5 and PC in October 2024, the Xbox edition had been the subject of speculation after an ESRB entry hinted at its arrival. Konami did not announce the Xbox release in advance; the version appeared without fanfare on the Australian Xbox Store and was only confirmed publicly after the listing went live.
At full price, the standard edition sells for $69.99 but is currently marked down to $34.99 for the launch period. The Deluxe Edition, normally $79.99, is available for $39.99.
Developed by Bloober Team, this reimagining has garnered strong critical interest. Game Informer awarded the remake an 8.75/10, praising its unnerving atmosphere and compelling storytelling. Reviewer Kye Hilliard described the experience as “engrossing” and noted that, despite its unsettling nature, the game invites repeat playthroughs to unpack its narrative layers.
