The update is now available in select regions.
Sony has released an update for the PlayStation 5 Welcome Hub that introduces a new widget with expanded game statistics and dynamic animated backgrounds that change with the seasons.
The new widget is called Recently Played. Once added to the PS5 home screen, it will display:
- Most recently played title
- Total hours spent playing it
- Number of play sessions
- Overall completion progress
The second addition is a seasonal animated background. At the moment, in November, it features an autumnal theme: yellow and red leaves drift slowly down the screen. As the year progresses the background will automatically shift to winter, spring, summer, and then return to autumn.
