Sony Fails to Attract One Million Viewers for New State of Play

Sony’s latest State of Play broadcast drew 982,000 concurrent viewers, which is nearly three times less than the June show.

The summer presentation peaked at 3 million concurrent viewers. This time, the maximum reached 982,000. During the first 24 hours, the September broadcast gained 2.9 million views compared to 5.1 million for the June event. The official PlayStation YouTube channel gathered more than 304,000 viewers.

At the same time, YouTube changed how it counts views, so comparing the new metrics with older broadcasts is not entirely accurate.

Despite the audience decline, Sony showcased several major releases. Until Dawn 2 will launch on January 28, 2027, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation will conclude the trilogy on April 8.

Following the presentation, Marvel’s Wolverine received the most attention, with its trailer gathering 2 million views. Next came the video for the new Resident Evil movie with 1.1 million views, followed by the video for the DualSense controller for GTA VI with 997,000 views.
