Song from First GTA VI Trailer Symbolizes Rockstar Games Mission
It took the developers a long time to bring their vision to life.
Several years have passed since the premiere of the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer, which was simply titled “Trailer 1”. Over this time, fans have managed to rewatch the trailer dozens or even hundreds of times and pick out various details.
However, one detail was hidden not in the visuals themselves, but in the musical accompaniment. The video features Tom Petty’s song “Love Is a Long Road”. Some players believed that the developers were thereby symbolizing the relationship between the two main characters, Jason and Lucia, but the creators actually had a different intention.
Well-known Red Dead Redemption and GTA community data miner ben (videotech) drew attention to an interview with the studio head.
Rob Nelson shared that using Tom Petty’s song “Love Is a Long Road” in the first GTA VI trailer served as a sort of designation for their “mission”, acting as a studio manifesto to show that Rockstar Games already had a game concept in place, though bringing it to life and polishing it would take time.

Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on November 19 of this year on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Rockstar Games and Take-Two have not officially announced anything regarding a release window for the PC version.
Some players hope that in the foreseeable future, a PlayStation 5 emulator will be able to successfully run GTA VI, as there has already been significant success with the franchise’s previous installment.
