Few franchises have captured the global entertainment landscape quite like Solo Leveling. Originating as a Korean fantasy web novel by Chugong, it rapidly evolved into a record-shattering webtoon boasting hundreds of millions of readers before transitioning into a critically acclaimed anime series by A-1 Pictures. Following two stellar seasons that cemented the property as an international powerhouse, an upcoming theatrical film is currently in development. While a definitive release date for Sung Jinwoo’s next cinematic venture remains under wraps, gamers can look forward to the imminent arrival of the franchise’s newest interactive title, Solo Leveling: Karma.

At the Tokyo Game Show 2026, developer Netmarble pulled back the curtain on Solo Leveling: Karma, treating attendees to a hands-on demo alongside fresh cinematic and gameplay trailers. Speaking in an interview with Inven Global, the development team emphasized their commitment to refined combat mechanics and an engaging roguelite loop designed to stave off repetition. However, dedicated devotees of the source material will likely find themselves most captivated by the game’s narrative, which boldly tackles a major missing chapter in official lore.

Solo Leveling: Karma Will Explore Sung Jinwoo’s 27-Year War

Towards the climax of the Solo Leveling saga, protagonist Sung Jinwoo secures ultimate victory, yet chooses to rewrite history to prevent widespread devastation. By rewinding time, he systematically hunts down the Monarchs before they can plunge Earth into darkness. This decision strands him within the Dimensional Gap, where he wages a grueling, isolated campaign against the antagonists for nearly three decades—all while a mere two years elapse on the mortal plane. Upon his eventual return, he reunites with loved ones for a peaceful conclusion, leaving the monumental undertaking known as “Jinwoo’s 27-year war” shrouded in mystery.

Solo Leveling: Karma directly chronicles this pivotal era. The narrative-focused showcase indicates that players will steer Jinwoo through the hostile expanse of the Dimensional Gap, casting light on a previously unchronicled period of his existence. Authenticity to the source material is guaranteed through direct collaboration with Chugong, who personally oversaw the game’s script to ensure it faithfully mirrors the tone, worldbuilding, and overarching atmosphere of the original masterpiece.

While the title will introduce a variety of fresh faces, Netmarble representative Jin Sung-gun noted that Chugong carefully reviewed every new character and line of dialogue. This rigorous oversight ensures that the narrative aligns seamlessly with Jinwoo’s signature demeanor and the stark rules governing his universe, delivering a deeply resonant expansion that long-time supporters can truly embrace. Furthermore, the implementation of rogue-like mechanics has been specifically tailored to recreate the series’ exhilarating sense of progression through leveling up.

Solo Leveling: Karma is slated for release on Windows PCs, iOS, and Android platforms. Although the title is broadly projected to launch in 2026, an exact calendar release date remains unannounced.
