
Because this all unfolded during COVID lockdowns, Giovannetti says the coin toss wasn’t done face-to-face: “I want to say we were on a Discord call, and I think he [co-founder Casey Yano] just told me the result of the coin, which, in hindsight, is maybe a little dubious — but I believe he told me the truth. I suspect Casey would have preferred the opposite outcome: I was always the card-game person, and he leaned toward action games.”
Either way, the team embraced the outcome. Working on a follow-up gave them a chance to explore ideas they hadn’t been able to implement the first time around. Players can expect to see those efforts come to fruition in March 2026.
