“Servers Stuffed with Olivier”: Escape from Tarkov 2026 Kicks Off with Issues
A rocky start: not every player successfully deployed into the field.
As 2026 kicked off, the Escape from Tarkov community was hit with significant latency issues, and in many cases, players were completely unable to establish a connection to the game servers.
Battlestate Games acknowledged the technical hurdles currently facing the titles:
We are currently experiencing disruptions at the data center powering Escape from Tarkov, EFT: Arena, and our official websites. As a result, users may encounter connectivity issues. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide an update once the data center operations have stabilized.
Frustrated yet humorous fans joked that the servers must have celebrated the New Year a bit too hard, making January 1st a particularly “hungover” day for the hardware.
Interestingly, the instability hasn’t affected the entire player base; for some, connectivity remains stable, allowing them to infiltrate raids without any apparent trouble.
