Silent Hill: Townfall Receives Major Update with New Difficulty Mode and Graphic Enhancements
Update 1.6 has been released for Silent Hill: Townfall, bringing a new difficulty level, gameplay improvements, and PC support for DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
The headline feature of patch 1.6 for Silent Hill: Townfall is the Hard mode, which slots between Normal and Nightmare in difficulty. It targets players looking for a more severe challenge while exploring the world and fighting for survival. Players must use stealth more carefully, conserve resources, and monitor noise levels, as enemies react more acutely to sounds. At the same time, the player’s position is now shown on the map regardless of the chosen difficulty.
The patch also alters resource availability in specific locations and reduces the strength of certain attacks from The Weight enemy. For players starting a playthrough on Nightmare for the first time, a difficulty warning has been added. The developers improved puzzle hints, item descriptions, and tutorial materials.
PC support has arrived for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, an NVIDIA technology that uses AI to improve ray-traced image quality. Konami also redesigned the settings menu to make categories and parameters easier to understand. The update is available on PC and PS5.
