This is only the first of three planned screen adaptations based on Death Stranding.

Kojima Productions has revealed the first teaser and poster for the anime Death Stranding Isolations. The video introduces a blond girl haunted by nightmares and features the tagline “My mother turned into a crater.” According to the synopsis, she is one of the main characters of the upcoming series.

The story takes place in North America shortly after Sam Bridges connects the continent with the chiral network. Restoring connections helped the country revive, but it also brought unforeseen consequences. The story centers on new characters: a girl who grew accustomed to solitude after the disaster and isolated herself from others; an old man who found his own way to unite people; a female soldier trapped in a cycle of war; and a young man embittered by the injustice of his life. Random events will cause their paths to cross.

The anime is produced by E&H production, known for Ninja Kamui. Takayuki Sano, who worked on the final season of Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen, serves as director, while Tow Ubukata, who worked on Mardock Scramble, Psycho-Pass, and the Ghost in the Shell franchise, is writing the script. Ilya Kuvshinov is responsible for original character designs, and Hideo Kojima serves as executive producer.

Two other Death Stranding adaptations are currently in development in parallel. The full-length anime Death Stranding Mosquito is directed by Hiroshi Miyamoto with a script by Aaron Guzikowski, and director Michael Sarnoski is working on the live-action film from A24.

Death Stranding Isolations will premiere on Disney+ in 2027.
