The fantasy saga about an ageless elf will return to screens in January 2026.
TOHO Animation’s official YouTube channel has released the full trailer for the second season of the anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. In the first half of the clip, the heroine travels with her companions, savoring the scenery and rare moments of peace; toward the end the trailer shifts into fast-paced combat sequences.
Production is once again handled by studio Madhouse, but the core creative team has been refreshed. Direction is led by Tomoya Kitagawa, who previously directed several episodes of the first season. His predecessor, Keiichiro Saito, remains involved as a creative advisor.
Character design duties are being handled by Takasemaru (known for Violet Evergarden), Keisuke Kojima (The 100-Meter Dash), and Yuri Fujinaki, who also contributed to the first season.
The second season of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is scheduled to premiere on January 16, 2026.
