Second Season of ‘Ao Ashi’ Set for Release Four Years After Season One
TMS Entertainment is producing the sequel, taking over from Production I.G.
The creators of Ao Ashi released the main trailer for the second season and announced its exact premiere date. The continuation of the football anime will begin airing on October 4.
In the second season, Ashito Aoi will move from the Tokyo City Esperion B team to the main youth squad. He will need to secure his spot on the roster and prove himself in matches for the Youth Premier League, Japan’s top youth championship.
TMS Entertainment is now handling production for the second season, replacing Production I.G, which worked on the first part. Kazuki Yokoyama, who participated in the creation of the first season, serves as the director. Masahiro Yokotani is once again responsible for series composition, and Manabu Nakatake has returned for character design alongside new additions Asami Taguchi and Junko Yamanaka. Kenji Iizuka remains the football consultant, Masaru Yokoyama is back as the composer, and Shoji Hata is the sound director. Despite the change in production studio, a significant portion of the core team has been preserved.
The second season will consist of 24 episodes split into two cours of 12 episodes each. How long the break will be between them has not yet been announced.
