Remedy to Add Enhanced PSSR to Alan Wake 2 and Control Ultimate Edition on PS5 Pro
The refined iteration of the upscaling technology is already being showcased in the Resident Evil series.
Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that both Control Ultimate Edition and Alan Wake 2 are slated to receive support for the upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
This enhanced version of PSSR debuted earlier this month and is already operational in select titles, including Capcom’s Resident Evil. For Remedy’s projects, the update is expected to provide superior image fidelity along with “noticeable improvements in visual stability and motion clarity.”
The updated PSSR functionality will be implemented as a separate option, allowing users who prefer the original presentation to continue playing the current PlayStation 5 Pro versions without interference. While a specific launch date has not been finalized, Remedy promises to release the update “in the near future.”
