Viral She-Wolf Life Sim Family Time Reaches Steam’s Top 50 Most Wishlisted Games, Gets Cloned as Friendslop
Competing developers have copied the concept of Family Time.
Indie developer sgthale has been posting teasers for Family Time online and recently released a demo. The game drew attention and quickly climbed into the top 50 most wishlisted games on Steam.
In Family Time, the protagonist lives in a forest with a prolific she-wolf. The family keeps growing, and the player has to look after all the pups, of which there can be a great many.
sgthale is gradually expanding the gameplay mechanics. For example, he taught the mother wolf to help track animals during hunts. He also reworked the “breeding” mechanic: the she-wolf will no longer have pups unless the protagonist has slept with her.
The concept of Family Time has attracted attention not only from regular players but also from some developers. Users recently spotted the Steam page of a copycat game.
Studio Hilly Games has revealed a cooperative game, also called “Family Time.” In the story, the protagonist and friends crash their car and end up in the wilderness with a mother fox. The developers also offer players the chance to build a large family, and this “Family Time” uses similar gameplay mechanics.

The developer of Family Time said he has already contacted Valve and filed a DMCA strike against the copycat game for copyright infringement. The copycat is expected to be removed from the store soon.

Family Time can be added to your Steam wishlist. The game is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2027.
