Studio Behind Crime Action Game Samson Reportedly Goes Bankrupt, Leaving Employees Unpaid
Liquid Swords, the studio behind Samson: A Tyndalston Story, has gone bankrupt, and its employees have gone unpaid. Samson had a troubled launch.
Samson: A Tyndalston Story launched on PC via Steam in early 2026. The crime action game from a Just Cause developer’s studio received “Mixed” reviews, with players criticizing its technical state and gameplay mechanics.
After launch, the developers released patches with new content and improvements for Samson: A Tyndalston Story and later announced console versions. Even so, sales appear to have been unsatisfactory.
Breakit recently reported that Liquid Swords had run into financial trouble and that its developers were not being paid:
The struggling game developer Liquid Swords has not paid salaries for several months. Bankruptcy is now a fact, which means the state will step in and pay compensation to nearly 30 employees.
The bankruptcy trustee hopes to find a buyer for the studio, but players doubt anyone will be interested in acquiring Liquid Swords.

Samson: A Tyndalston Story holds a score of 51 out of 100 on Metacritic based on 31 reviews. Its user score is 5.2 out of 10 after a couple hundred ratings. Some players praised the game, but even positive reviews pointed to shortcomings in various aspects of Samson.
