The game is set to launch sooner than many expected.

According to Insider Gaming, the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake is expected to arrive earlier than anticipated — around mid‑January 2026.

That information surfaced on the latest episode of the Insider Gaming Weekly podcast. Sources close to the project tell the outlet that Ubisoft still intends to release the Sands of Time remake before the revamped Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Insiders also say there’s a strong chance the next gameplay reveal will occur on December 11, 2025 at The Game Awards — where the precise release date could be officially announced.

The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake was first revealed in 2020. It was originally slated for January 2021, then moved to March that year, and ultimately postponed indefinitely a month before the planned launch. After a prolonged silence, Ubisoft announced in May 2022 that the project had been handed to Ubisoft Montreal, which restarted development from scratch.
