PlayStation 6 to Be Cheaper but Less Powerful Than Next Xbox — Rumor

Producing the new console will be extremely costly for Microsoft.

Prominent insider KeplerL2 shared his perspective on PS6 and the upcoming Xbox pricing, highlighting a marked difference. He claims the PS6 will be cheaper because it uses less powerful hardware.

The new Xbox contains about 42% more silicon, roughly 20% more memory, and carries higher costs for its board and cooling. Moreover, Microsoft won’t be able to offset the price through third‑party storefront subsidies.

The PS6 will likely ship with less RAM than the Xbox — codenamed “Magnus.” On NeoGAF, KeplerL2 specified that the Xbox Magnus will feature 36 GB of RAM, the handheld PS6 will have 24 GB, and the home PS6 will come with 30 GB.

These figures align with an August leak from Moore’s Law Is Dead, which claimed the upcoming Xbox would outmatch the PS6 in performance. The insider added that Sony could price the PS6 between $499 and $599 based on its specs, but warned the company might raise that price if it deems necessary.
