Marvel’s Wolverine Enters Guinness World Records with New Logan Achievement

Marvel’s Wolverine marks the sixth game in which Wolverine stars as the lead character, helping the character set a new record and earn a place in the Guinness Book of Records.

Solo games starring Logan began in 1991 with Wolverine for the NES, developed by Software Creations. It was a 2D platformer where the hero was trapped on a remote island, and other X-Men helped him with clues.

In Marvel’s Wolverine, Liam McIntyre voices Wolverine. Steve Blum was previously closely associated with the character, having voiced Logan in 22 games and retaining the record for the most acting performances as Wolverine in video games.

The new game by Insomniac Games uses elements from the X-Men universe, featuring Mystique and a powerful Sentinel in promotional materials. The studio also applied its experience working on Marvel’s Spider-Man to create a more violent story.

Wolverine also holds a Guinness record in film, as Deadpool & Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman grossed over $1.338 billion to become the highest-grossing R-rated movie.
