Blood of Dawnwalker 2 Might Not Feature a Timer, Director Explains Decision

The Blood of Dawnwalker sequel may drop its timer mechanic, as game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz stated that the feature will return only in stories where it truly fits.

The Blood of Dawnwalker quickly emerged as one of the notable role-playing games of 2026, selling one million copies in just a few days while receiving positive reviews. At the same time, the timer proved to be one of its most controversial features, with the most popular mod on launch day being one that removed the mechanic.

When asked about the potential return of the timer in a sequel, Tomaszkiewicz answered:

Honestly, we haven’t decided yet. We will experiment. If we have parts of the story or an entire story that it suits, we will use it. If we have stories that it doesn’t suit, we won’t force it. We will experiment with the system and try to use it to heighten the sense of urgency for certain events in the game. But I am not saying that every game will have the same scheme or cycle for us—that’s not the case.

According to the game director, Rebel Wolves is also exploring “other crazy ideas” that could shake up the RPG genre and surprise players in the future.

The studio continues to fix bugs and performance issues in The Blood of Dawnwalker, and previously promised small free add-ons.
