The developers had even intended to reinstate all of the content that was removed from the original game.

According to a new investigation by journalist Stephen Totilo (GameFile), alongside the widely reported remake of the original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Aspyr was also working in parallel on a full remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

The project carried the internal codename “Juliet” and was planned as a completely revamped and enhanced version of the second game, designed to incorporate all previously excised material.

Work on the remake continued at least until March 2025, but was eventually discontinued.

Totilo reports that Aspyr ran into an “insurmountable obstacle” in the form of Disney’s legal team. The crux of the issue was the aforementioned cut content and copyright law.
