Pirated Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Performs Worse Than Official Denuvo Version

Initial performance benchmarks for the cracked version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced show that bypassing Denuvo DRM does not boost frame rates, running slightly behind the official release instead.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched on PC this past summer featuring Denuvo anti-tamper technology. The DRM often faces criticism from players who attribute performance drops and stuttering to its implementation.

A hacker operating under the handle voices38 recently bypassed the game’s protection. The release relies on traditional cracking techniques, meaning users do not need to disable Windows security features as required by hypervisor-based workarounds.

Performance benchmarks published by GameGPU show that the cracked build delivers slightly lower frame rates than the retail version. The outlet conducted its tests on a system powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card.

According to GameGPU, the official licensed version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced averaged 71 FPS at 4K resolution in fully GPU-bound conditions, peaking at 93 FPS and rendering 9,723 total frames.

By comparison, the cracked build averaged 70 FPS with a peak of 91 FPS and 9,677 total frames rendered. While the difference falls within the normal margin of error, the cracked version failed to yield any performance advantage over the original.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has enjoyed a warm reception on PC overall. The game holds a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 80% positive user reviews across 28,000 submissions.
