PC Version of Death Stranding 2 Receives ESRB Rating — Is the Release Imminent?

An ESRB rating for Windows PC typically signals that the game is likely to arrive on the platform soon.

The rating was posted on the ESRB website and points to preparations for a launch following the PS5 release. The first entry reached PC eight months after its PS4 debut, but no specific window has been announced yet for this new title.

The ESRB has given the game an M (17+) rating for blood, violence, partial nudity, and strong language.

The game is played from a third-person perspective in an open world, with combat against humans, androids, and supernatural foes. Weaponry includes melee tools—such as a battle guitar—as well as firearms, from machine guns to sniper rifles. There are also scenes depicting dismemberment, immolation, and characters being slashed.

The narrative picks up 11 months after the events of the first game. Sam journeys through new territories, primarily across Australia, in an effort to save humanity. The PS5 release took place on June 26, 2025.
