Paramount to Begin Filming Call of Duty Movie in 2026 — Insider

Paramount Pictures’ forthcoming Call of Duty adaptation is slowly coming into focus as more information surfaces.

Paramount Pictures and Activision are developing a Call of Duty feature with acclaimed talent attached — director Peter Berg (Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon) and writer Taylor Sheridan (best known for Yellowstone and other high-profile projects).

Insider Daniel Richtman reports that principal photography is slated to begin in 2026. He also indicates the film will take place in the present day, rather than in the historical or futuristic settings seen in some entries of the game franchise.

Earlier, another well-known leaker, MyTimeToShineHello, shared similar claims. According to them, the story could draw from the Modern Warfare subseries or elements of Black Ops, both of which would fit the contemporary timeframe.

That said, it remains uncertain whether the movie will be a direct adaptation of a specific title or an original narrative set within the Call of Duty universe. No official announcements have been made about the start of filming or a release date.
