Order of the Sinking Star Set for October Release

Jonathan Blow and his studio, Thekla—the visionary minds behind landmark titles Braid and The Witness—have officially locked in a release date for their monumental puzzle adventure, Order of the Sinking Star. The sprawling odyssey is slated to launch on October 8.
Initially unveiled at The Game Awards 2025, the title immerses players in an expansive fantasy realm featuring more than 1,000 intricately interconnected puzzles. The narrative follows an exiled princess navigating an enigmatic realm split across four distinct biomes. Each zone introduces idiosyncratic characters and proprietary puzzle dynamics that gradually synthesize into multifaceted, deeply layered challenges.
Given the sheer ambition and staggering scale of the project, Thekla assembled an extraordinary coalition of puzzle design luminaries. The collaborative roster includes acclaimed developers such as Alan Hazelden (Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes, Mirror Isles), Sean Barrett (Promesst), Jonah Ostroff (Heroes of Sokoban), Zach Polansky (Enigmash), Patrick Traynor (Patrick’s Parabox), and Marc ten Bosch (Miegakure).
“Order of the Sinking Star simply wouldn’t exist without the incredible designers who helped work on it over the years,” Blow shared in a statement. “By creating a kind of game design supercollider, we were able to bring together ideas from some of the most brilliant puzzle designers in the industry. I’m grateful to everyone who contributed to help us push the limits of what’s possible in a puzzle adventure. We can’t wait for players to step into this world and discover just how deep and complex it really is.”
Order of the Sinking Star will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
