Tides of Annihilation Replaces Baldur’s Gate 3 Star’s Voice and Face Model, Drawing Player Criticism
Recent gameplay footage for Tides of Annihilation has sparked debate across the community after players noticed visible changes to the main protagonist.
Earlier this summer, studio Eclipse Glow Games announced that a Baldur’s Gate 3 voice actor had to step down from the project due to “personal reasons related to health.” At the time, the developers stated they were actively looking for a replacement.
The adjustments appear to extend beyond the voiceover. After Eclipse Glow Games released new gameplay clips of Tides of Annihilation, players pointed out that the heroine’s facial features look noticeably different from earlier builds.
A comparison image contrasting the new demonstration with previous promotional art went viral online. The shift quickly became a leading topic on the game’s Steam discussion boards, where several dissatisfied users accused the development team of altering the character’s look “to cater to the agenda.”

Players also speculated that actress Angela Sant’Albano, known for portraying Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem, may be the new voice behind the lead character. Observers noted that she recently followed the title’s official social media page, with Resident Evil being her only other gaming-related follow.

Tides of Annihilation is available to wishlist on Steam. Eclipse Glow Games has not yet shared an exact launch date or release window on the store page.
