Enthusiast Ports Gothic Classic to Android, Breaking Its Exclusivity Barrier
The unofficial port is based on the iOS version of the game.
In late September 2026, THQ Nordic released Gothic Classic for iPhone and iPad, but has said nothing about plans to bring it to Android. While the publisher remained silent, enthusiasts took matters into their own hands.
A developer using the name Wicked independently ported the cult RPG to Android, basing the work on the iOS version. That version, in turn, is based on the Nintendo Switch re-release, with technical fixes, a redesigned interface, and controls adapted for touchscreens.
Smartphones with Snapdragon chips may deliver solid performance, but the game still has issues with Mali graphics. Depending on the device, it may show graphical artifacts or fail to launch altogether.

Gothic Classic faithfully preserves the story and gameplay mechanics of the original 2001 RPG. Players once again find themselves behind the magical barrier surrounding the mining colony, searching for allies among warring camps and fighting to survive in this inhospitable place.
