Obsidian Shows The Outer Worlds 2 Gameplay — First Location Astonishes with Its Scale

Microsoft plans to release The Outer Worlds 2 by the end of October. A lengthy gameplay preview has surfaced online, offering a clear idea of what to expect from the new installment.

The original The Outer Worlds enjoyed a warm reception — critics applauded its sharp dialogue, retro‑futurist atmosphere, and Obsidian’s distinctive humor. While it never became a massive commercial hit, the game cultivated a loyal fanbase that waited years for a follow‑up. The developers opted to expand the core concept and make the sequel noticeably more ambitious.

Reviewers report that The Outer Worlds 2 delivers a far more refined experience. Obsidian concentrated on polishing existing systems, deepening companion interactions, and enlarging the scope of exploration. With a bigger budget and more development time, the studio is building the game with modern consoles and high‑performance PCs in mind.

Game Informer’s editorial team was granted access to an exclusive demo and posted a gameplay clip from Paradise Island, one of the project’s early locations. The island serves as the first sizable open region after the prologue, where players can test the overhauled combat, expanded exploration, and new ways to interact with the environment.
