EFT nearly received Witcher-themed content.

Recently, the YouTube channel «Проходимец» published an interview with the creator of Escape from Tarkov.

During the conversation with the head of Battlestate Games they touched on collaborations. Nikita Buyanov confirmed that “there will be collaborations.”

The developer couldn’t specify which ones yet, but he shared a story about a collaboration that never happened. As it turns out, Escape from Tarkov almost featured content tied to The Witcher:

If anyone hears this — whether you’re fans over there or developers from other studios we might collaborate with — drop us an email. We’ll consider fun and interesting collabs; we’re all for goodwill, and we’d gladly promote each other. Good collaborations are fantastic. I remember a long time ago we tried to team up with The Witcher. We even made a “Witcher” medallion and suggested adding it as a tribute to the game, but they told us, “thanks, but no.”

That refusal deeply disappointed Nikita Buyanov. He says that afterward he even cancelled plans to add the Pip-Boy from Fallout. The creator also admitted he isn’t a fan of The Witcher and hasn’t completed the game.
