No Rest for the Wicked Creator Aims to Make ‘Best Survival Game,’ Presents 10-Hour Demo of New Project
Moon Studios is preparing to expand the No Rest for the Wicked universe into new genres while launching an experimental initiative for smaller games.
Moon Studios head Thomas Mahler shared details about the studio’s upcoming projects on social media alongside a new teaser.
Mahler revealed that the team has been experimenting with a Survival realm, a mode designed to let players experience all of No Rest for the Wicked as a survival game. During development, Mahler realized the concept could work as a standalone title.
Lately I have been pushing even harder on this and I am now almost certain: by using all the great tech we built over the last decade, we could probably make the best survival game on the market.
The studio is also exploring another unannounced genre within the same franchise.
There is another genre we are targeting and actively prototyping right now, so expect at least one other game that uses the No Rest for the Wicked IP and lore.

Moon Studios also formed a subsidiary label named Moonities. The new division will focus on releasing smaller, experimental projects, starting with a game called Luma.

Mahler shared a teaser on social media and released a 10-hour demo on the official Luma website.
Luma is my experiment to create an entirely new simulation genre: I took some of the best elements from Minecraft, SimCity, and Civilization to do something completely fresh. But be warned: the game is already insanely addictive and super FUN.
