New Minecraft Add-On Simulates Multiplayer Offline

Developers are using classic gaming artificial intelligence rather than cutting-edge technologies.

Gamemode One recently announced a new add-on for Minecraft. The official Mojang Studios partner wants to offer players an unusual multiplayer experience.

The creators ask, “What if you could play with others even without an internet connection?” and immediately answer it by publishing a teaser on social media showing an example of how their new modification works.

A real player picks up a special device and then opens the AI player management panel. These AI players can be invited to your world (several at once) or blocked. They are designed to simulate the behavior of other users.

As AI technologies are actively developing right now, some players think of completely different things when “AI” is mentioned. The mod’s developers clarified that in this case, “it is more like AI from old video games, the same kind used for other mobs in Minecraft.”

This modification for Minecraft is scheduled for release on September 15, when it will appear in the Minecraft Marketplace. The developers specified that it will be available “on any platform where you can play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.”
